Amber

You can call me a crazy woman all you like,
but you didn’t see the moon tonight!
(Not so that she grabbed you
right in the centre of your still silent place
and made your Love so wild
that the world stopped spinning.)

My G-d, she was so vast, so low,
she was sailing, amber,
right down close.

When I see her like that,
naked, on fire,
almost full,

I know that however you choose to judge me,
if one glance doesn’t stun you, fill your lungs,
squeeze you, stir you;
You are the one
you, not I,
Who has lost something beautiful.

Burning

There is a fire that burns in the heart

It never leaves.

Can you feel it?

Everything is turning into light
Everything is turning into love.

With every breath the fire glows brighter

It reaches out to envelop the whole of existence

Whatever we gather
One day we must let go

A Thousand Dreams

You broke me open so quietly
there were times I begged for mercy;
asked you to stop this loving.

Your love was a raging fire.
It burnt through me
carving out channels
in places so deep
I could not know they existed.

You were a cougar – a mountain lion,
I believed you would kill me with one pounce.

You pursued me through a thousand dreams,
stalking my illusions with relentless precision
until my mind was shattered
my body raw and finally
I paused. To look
into your eyes.

I became so still that time
stopped. I became.
Stillness.

Then we were equal you and I:
Death staring at death;
Life staring at life.

There was no fear
only total acceptance.
Silence dissolved through us
with perfect resonance.

There was no longer desire
but an ocean of emptiness
fulfilled beyond completion.
We merged with reverence

I returned in you
tender – a witness to Love.
