dayeinu

It would have been enough…

“Even if we had not been given freedom and there was only breath, dayeinu;

it would have been enough!”

“Even if we had not been given music and there was only silence, dayeinu;

it would have been enough!”

“Even if we had not been given movement and there was only stillness, dayeinu;

it would have been enough!”

“Even if we had not been given radiance and there was only one small flame burning, dayeinu; it would have been enough!”

“Even if we had not been given laughter and there were only tears, dayeinu;

it would have been enough!

“Even if we had not been given tears and there was only sorrow, dayeinu;

it would have been enough!”

“Even if we had not been given wisdom and there were only questions, dayeinu;

it would have been enough!”

“Even if we had not been given questions and there was only vision, dayeinu;

it would have been enough!

“Even if we had not been given body and there was only spirit, dayeinu;

it would have been enough!”

“Even if we had not been given courage and there was only longing, dayeinu;

it would have been enough!”

“Even if we had not been given honey, and there was only milk, dayeinu;

                                      it is sweet enough

..even if we had received nothing and there was nothing,

it is enough to love

                                                                                                            to give thanks,

to rejoice…

 …The empty cup is overflowing!

da dayeinu, da dayeinu, da dayeinu, dayeinu dayeinu! da dayeinu, da dayeinu, da dayeinu, dayeinu dayeinu!
